As 2013 approached I was faced with the question of whether or not I would continue with the 52 week challenge sponsored by LensProToGo.com for the new year. I really enjoyed participating last year and I’ve been able to look back and see just how much it has helped me to grow and improve my photography, not to mention it has given me something to blog about! So why not do it again?!
Last year my goal was to simply finish the challenge while trying my best, and this year I’ll keep those same goals while adding a few more; namely to simplify my images so they have more impact, be less cluttered, and to be more adventerous in where and how I make the images.
The theme for Week 1 was “Happy New Year” and I wanted to show that one of my resolutions this year was to get into better shape so I can have those adventures.
“Let’s Go!”
Shot using my 50mm at f/4.5 and using a YN-560 flash in a 24″ softbox camera left at 1/4 power using Cactus V5 triggers.
My shot made the weekly Gallery wrap up, you can see the other 17 entries here.
Thanks for visiting, and here’s to a great New Year!
Happy Shooting!
Howard

Terrific work here, Howard! Spot on with your lighting, my friend, you’ve really brought out the drama and the textures in this shot perfectly!

Thanks so much Toad! I was a little hesitant to continue on this year, but the best way to improve in anything is to be challenged so hopefully this year will see some improvement in my photography.
